Albion is a school that has its origins in the 1950’s when it was built near the intersection of 240th Street and the Lougheed Highway, less than a kilometer away from the Albion Ferry which crosses the Fraser River to Fort Langley.
Over the years as the community has developed, the school’s population has also grown and the building has been progressively expanded. The most recent expansion was completed in 2002 which allows the school to accommodate the
525 who attend.

Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary
School opened in September 2005 and
currently offers rigorous academic and
technical programs to over 900 students.
SRTSS is also home to the VANCOUVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE "Evening Culinary
Arts Program". The culinary arts students
prepare a menu and offer the community the opportunity to feast for a minimal fee. The restaurant is open from 5:00P to 6:15P Monday thru Friday. Get there early as they are sold out most nights. Menus are posted on the SRTSS website every week.
THOMAS HANEY

THSS opened in September 1992 and
is currently in the thirteenth year of operation. The school hosts 900+ students from grade
eight to twelve. The Secondary School is part
of the Thomas Haney Centre which includes the High School, the offices of the Community Education department, as well as Student Support Services of School District #42.
The school is organized around a very successful Teacher Advisor System where one teacher takes responsibility for approximately 25 students.
The Advisor becomes the prime advocate and contact for these students and forms a triangle involving the home, the student and the Classroom Teacher and Teacher Advisor.

Beginning in September, 2008, Garibaldi will
be one of only 14 International Baccalaureate World Schools in BC. IB offers students the opportunity to complete their high school education in an internationally-recognized, and internationally-focused, program that will open many doors to the world of post-secondary education. Even more importantly, IB will expose students to the wider, international world of lifelong learning by focusing on both depth and breadth of learning in all subject areas.
